Vigilance heat on school meal scam

BHUBANESWAR: Acting on allegations of large-scale fraud in the distribution of food to students under the Centre-funded miday-day meal scheme, Vigilance sleuths raided various government offices, anganwadi centers and godowns in Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur and Balasore on Thursday.
"We verified the food stocks in schools, scanned the documents in the blocks and offices of district social welfare officers," senior Vigilance officer Devdutta Pattnaik said.
