Koraput: In a significant boost to
healthcare services in
tribal-dominated Koraput, a
super-speciality clinic was inaugurated at
SLN Medical College and Hospital in Koraput on Saturday.
The new clinic aims to provide specialised medical services in cardiology, neurology and nephrology. Speaking on the occasion, Koraput collector Keerthi Vasan V said, "Renowned doctors from these departments will visit the clinic to provide treatment to patients."
Highlighting the funding and accessibility, the collector added that payments for the visiting specialists would be covered through the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) fund, ensuring free treatment for all patients.
Superintendent of the medical college, Susant Sahu, said the specialist doctors have committed to visiting the clinic once a month due to prior engagements. However, he expressed optimism that the frequency of their visits would increase in the near future. "We are hopeful that the initiative will significantly enhance the existing healthcare facilities in the district," Sahu said.
