Bhubaneswar: In view of
Durga Puja celebrations, state govt has announced early disbursement of salaries for employees. CM Mohan Charan Majhi has directed that salaries for Sept be released on Sept 26, ahead of the festive break.
Typically, govt employees receive their salaries on the last working day of the month. However, with state offices scheduled to remain closed from Sept 27 for Durga Puja, the advance payment aims to facilitate festive preparations.
The decision also aligns with the nationwide observance of ‘Bachat Utsav’ following the rollout of GST 2.0 reforms. “Durga Puja is a time of celebration and spending. Early salary disbursement will help employees plan better and participate in the festivities,” a senior official said.
