Not enough funds for rly projects: BJD

Bhubaneswar: BJD on Saturday alleged that the Centre is not allocating enough funds to Odisha for railway projects though it is earning huge revenue from the state. BJP lashed out at the ruling BJD for misleading the people over the railway allocation. BJD spokesperson Shreemayee Mishra told a press conference here that railways has received Rs 2 lakh crore revenue from Odisha in the last nine years, but it did not allocate enough funds to the state. She said people from tribal areas in the state have not got any new rail connectivity in the last five years. Even the Centre did not sanction any new rail line too, she added. “The Centre is showing a step-motherly attitude towards Odisha,” she said. “Railways should tell us about the Sitalapalli wagon factory project in Ganjam and other projects meant for Odisha,” she added.Countering the allegations, BJP women’s wing national secretary Aiswarya Biswal said BJD is finding fault in others to hide its incapability and failures. “It cannot digest the truth and misleading people to score political brownie points,” she added.
