BHUBANESWAR: To shore up Narendra Modi's prospects as BJP's prime ministerial candidate, the party organized a concert in Saheed Nagar here, where music lovers and Modi supporters turned up in large numbers on Wednesday.
'Ek Shaam Modi Ke Naam', as the musical show was dubbed, saw budding singers from Odisha and outside perform in an open-air auditorium with Modi's life-size photograph in the backdrop.

Odia cine stars like Sreetam Das, Pintu Nanda and Pinky Pradhan, who recently joined BJP, also entertained the audience with their performances. The programme was organized by NaMo brigade, in association with Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).
The evening unfolded with the performance by a band from Uttar Pradesh. The band crew Sourav, Prashant and Yash Vardhan sang some patriotic numbers before eulogizing Modi before the spectators. Noted singer Rocky Mittal, who already sang several songs on Modi across the country, too regaled the audience.
"The objective of the cultural programme is to connect with the youth and encourage them to vote for the BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi," said BJP youth wing president (Bhubaneswar) Biswaranjan Badjena.
'Ek Shaam Modi Ke Naam' came close on the heels of the nationwide 'people connect' exercise Chai Pe Charcha with NaMo at tea stalls in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack last month.
