BHUBANESWAR: For anxious examinees awaiting matriculation result and their parents, 'Matric Fail' could well bring down their anxiety level! Odia film by this name released days ahead of the result has created a flutter.
"Not that I have not done well. It will certainly be a first division. But then waiting results is a pain and the movie has certainly been a reliever," said Alok Roy, an examinee in city.
The commercial flick, directed by Sudhakar Vasanth, released on June 12 shows isolated examination failure as no deciding factor for one's life. "My charter in the movie is matric fail. But that has not stopped me chasing my goal," lead actor Anubhav Mohanty said.
Result of high school certificate examination is due later this month. "I have not seen the movie. But from media highlights what I can gather is, it portrays how life is not all about performance in an examination. It certainly will boost students' confidence and compliment initiatives being taken to ease the burden of examination," said
Board of Secondary Education (BSE) president Satyakam Mishra.
This year's examination was a rather more stressful one for the around 5.5 lakh examines as questions theft led to rescheduling of the examination. Failure rate in the examination in previous years is very high. Around 66 per cent had cleared the test in 2011 while around 71 per cent passed in 2010. At least five incidents of suicide were reported in 2011 after the results.
