S’garh admn orders probe into conveyor belt collapse

Rourkela: Following the collapse of a conveyor belt of a cement plant near Ranibandh on Tuesday, Sundargarh collector Manoj Satyaban Mahajan has directed six officials to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incident. The collapse, which occurred at 3:05 pm, blocked the road connecting Ranibandh to Rajgangpur town. Rajgangpur tehsildar Jagabandhu Mallick conducted an initial investigation on Tuesday evening. Deputy director of factories & boilers, Bibhu Prasad, who visited the site on Wednesday, has instructed the management to engage a structural expert from a national institute to analyse the collapse. A company spokesperson declined to comment at this stage.TNN
