Bhubaneswar: A fire broke out in a coal-laden goods train in Sambalpur division while it was passing through Kesinga in Kalahandi district around 7.15 pm on Friday. Railway officials initiated emergency response measures and alerted the local authorities.
The train was brought to Titlagarh around 8.15 pm, where firefighting operations began at 8.25 pm.
Preliminary reports indicate that five wagons were affected. Senior railway officials and emergency teams were at the site and monitoring the situation closely, at the time of filing this report.
Passenger train services remain unaffected.
