Bhubaneswar: A minor derailment involving a freight train was reported between Jarati and Manabar stations around 2: 30 pm in Koraput district on Saturday. The incident took place when a single axle of a wagon slipped off the track, railway officials said.
East Coast Railway (ECoR) officials and maintenance staff rushed to the site and started restoration work. The derailed axle was re-railed by 4:30 pm, following which the track section was cleared and made fit for movement.
ECoR said the incident did not affect passenger train services and no injuries were reported. Train operations on the route started after restoration, the railway said in an official statement.
