Bhubaneswar: A couple travelling to a funeral lost their lives in a car accident on NH-57 in Boudh Wednesday, when their vehicle collided with a stationary truck.The deceased persons were identified as Raj Kishore Sahu and Meenakshi Sahu. The couple were travelling from Kalahandi. The accident took place near Nuapada in Boudh. According to sources, Raj Kishore was travelling to his native village, Gania, in Nayagarh district along with his wife to attend his father's funeral. The car in which they were travelling crashed into a truck parked near a toll gate.People nearby rushed to the spot and later informed the police, who then arrived at the scene and took the duo to the hospital. The impact of the collision was such that both the husband and wife died on the spot. "We have recovered the bodies and sent them for an autopsy examination. A case has been registered in the matter, and an investigation was launched to determine the exact reason for the accident," a police official said.
