BHUBANESWAR: A
Congress delegation led by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Niranjan Patnaik on Friday met Governor M C Bhandare to apprise him of the clash between Congress and BJD workers in Balangir.
The delegation urged the Governor to take immediate action against the conspirators. "We apprised the Governor of how the Congress workers were beaten up by BJD workers at the behest of chief minister
Naveen Patnaik, Balangir legislator A U Singhdeo and MP Kalikesh Singhdeo.
Police also arrested the injured Congress workers," said chief spokesperson of Congress

He questioned how could the police re-arrest Congress workers, who were released on PR bond. "We apprised the Governor of police excess and BJD's gundaraj in Balangir. We also told him that BJD is trying to create a sense of terror in Balangir. He promised us to take prompt action," said Mishra.
Sources said about nine Congress workers were injured in the alleged attack by BJD workers in front of police during CM's visit to Balangir three days ago.
