Centre yet to give Backward Regions Grant Fund money: Panchayati raj minister

BHUBANESWAR: Panchayati raj minister Kalpataru Das on Tuesday said development work under Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF) in the state might get affected as the Centre was yet to release funds for 2013-14.
During question hour in the assembly, Das said the annual grant under BRGF is fixed in tune with the backward index. He told the house the government would direct officers to conduct district level meetings on BRGF at regular intervals.
The opposition Congress and BJP members accused the state government of failing to properly utilise money under BRGF.
