Bhubaneswar: BJD on Wednesday reconstituted the panel of state-level office-bearers by inducting five new faces in the list of nine vice-presidents (VPs).
Former minister Bimbadhar Kuanr, who had joined the ruling party ahead of the 2014 general elections, was appointed as one of the VPs.
According to an official statement, other new faces include women and child development minister Usha Devi, Patna MLA Hrushikesh Naik, state plan board vice-chairman N Bhaskar Rao, Patakura MLA Bed Prakash Agarwalla.
Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patasani has been dropped from the list of VPs.
Chairman of the Odisha Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Subash Singh replaced L B Himirika as treasurer of the party.
The party also appointed 10 each general secretaries and secretaries. There was, however, only one each woman candidate in the list of general secretaries and secretaries.
The party also appointed presidents for three district units - Sambalpur, Balangir and Balangir - which could not be done earlier due to lack of consensus among the leaders.
While Aska MLA Debraj Mohanty was appointed as Ganjam BJD president in place of Subash Maharana, in Sambalpur the party appointed Pramod Rath in the place of Rohit Pujari, who was recently inducted in the state executive committee of the party. Balangir MP Kalikesh Singhdeo would continue as Balangir district BJD president.
