4L beneficiaries added under MBPY scheme

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Monday announced the inclusion of 4.13 lakh more people under the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY). This raised the number of beneficiaries, who get a monthly payment ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 700, covered under the social security monthly pension to 32.75 lakh.
According to sources, the CM took this decision considering the grievances received from different districts and the feedback received from Mo Sarkar. The newly added beneficiaries will get the benefits from coming August 15. All the collectors have been advised to ensure smooth disbursement of pension to the beneficiaries in camp mode.
The government of Odisha provides Rs 500, Rs 700 and Rs 900 as social security pension to 28.61 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme.
