₹2cr for Gangadhar memorial upgrade

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday sanctioned Rs 2 crore for the development of the memorial of poet Gangadhar Meher in Barpali, Bargarh. On June 26 and 27, 5T secretary V K Pandian had visited Bargarh and reviewed various development plans and met the people there and heard their grievances. On June 26, Pandian had visited the birthplace of Gangadhar in Barpali and discussed the development of the birth place.
The money will be used for the overall improvement and beautification of this historic place to make it a research centre of Odia literature. As per plan, a Kabi Bhavan, Smriti Bhavan and Gangadhar Mehar Park will be built with the sanctioned fund. TNN
