Youth dies by suicide due to call by ‘fake cop’, one held

Raipur: The suicide of a young mechanic in Korba district, initially believed to be linked to alleged police harassment, has taken a new turn after investigators found that the threatening call mentioned in the victim's video was made by a man impersonating a policeman.Police said the deceased, Sanat Kashyap (21), had recorded a video before taking the extreme step, claiming he was distressed after receiving abusive phone calls from a person who introduced himself as a police officer from Janjgir-Champa. The police probe found that the call was made by Sachin Khare (30), the brother of a woman who had allegedly eloped with Kashyap's roommate. Police have arrested Khare.
