Women voters beat men in 3 Madhya Pradesh constituencies
While gender ratio has been a major concern in MP, particularly in areas under Chambal region but in Mandla district, there are 1005 women against every 1000 men. Since, there was greater turnout of women voters, they may play a decisive role in the results.
In Bichhiya constituency of Mandla district, there are a total of 2,59,161 registered voters. Out of this 1,27,774 are males, 1,31,413 females and others are 4. The voting pattern suggests 2,12,622 voters cast their votes of which 1,04,777 were males and 1,07,822 females. The voting recorded in the constituency was 82.04%. Women voters outnumbered the male voters by 0.01%.
In the Niwas constituency where Union minister Faggan Singh Kulaste is a candidate, the total voters are 2,63,912 comprising 1,29,936 males and 1,33,969 females. Of the males 81.97 voters cast their votes while 82.22% of the females voters turned out for voting.
In Mandla constituency, the total number of voters are 2,67,925 comprising 1,32,632 males, 1,35,290 females and 3 others.

Kailash Thakur, a two and a half feet tall first-time voter from Mandla district in Madhya Pradesh, is excited to exercise his right to vote in the upcoming assembly elections. Despite his shorter stature, Thakur has captured the attention of his village with his enthusiasm and commitment to participate in the democratic process. The district election officer acknowledged Thakur as a special voter and highlighted ongoing efforts to promote voter awareness and encourage maximum voter turnout.
Women voters pip men in Chandigarh, in close race in Madhya Pradesh
Women in Chhattisgarh outnumbered men in pressing the electronic voting machine (EVM) button during the recent polling, with female voter turnout beating that of male voters in 50 out of 90 assembly constituencies. Similarly, in Madhya Pradesh, female turnout improved to around 76% compared to 74% in 2018, while male turnout increased to 78.2% from 75.8%. The overall turnout in Madhya Pradesh was 77.1%. Parties have been trying to attract women voters by offering various incentives, and the Election Commission set up all-women managed polling stations to encourage participation.

In Chhattisgarh, the absolute number of female voters who turned up to vote was higher than that of male voters in 50 of the 90 assembly constituencies. In Madhya Pradesh, the overall turnout improved to 77.1%, with female turnout increasing to around 76% and male turnout rising to 78.2%. The EC made special efforts to improve women's participation by setting up all-women managed polling stations.
