BHOPAL: A 37-year-old woman climbed on a mobile tower at Polytechnic Square rotary on Friday evening and threatened to jump. She alleged that she was frustrated as police and administration officials did not take any action on her complaints filed against her house owner and contractor on charges of molestation, house trespass and assault.
The incident led to a traffic jam at the busy square for around an hour. Shyamla Hills police along with BMC fire brigade team reached the spot and brought down the woman with the help of a hydraulic crane. She was counselled and sent to Ayodhya Nagar police station with assurance that police would take appropriate action in the matter. Police said that the lives in Ayodhya Nagar with her 11-year-old daughter and works as a physiotherapist. She had separated from her husband. She stated in her complaint that she had purchased a house from Dwarka Prasad and contractor Sudhir Sharma. In 2021, she had filed police complaints against them on charges of molestation and house trespass and assault against them. As she could not pay some remaining amount of her house, the accused forced her out of home. Both the cases filed by her were pending before the court. She claimed that since then, the accused had been harassing her. They were pressurising her for a settlement in the case. She had filed complaints in the matter with police and administration officials, but no action was taken on her complaints. Frustrated over this, she decided to climb on the tower at Polytechnic Square.
Police said that the woman climbed on the tower around 5pm. As locals spotted her, a crowd started gathering at the spot which led to traffic congestion. Several vehicles were stuck in the jam. Acting on information, Shyamla Hills police along with BMC fire brigade team reached the spot and brought her down within an hour.
