BHOPAL: In a viral video clip showing the broken healthcare system in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district, an ailing man was walking on a street holding a drip bottle in one hand and a needle attached to his other arm.

The purported video was from Sirsaud village in Shivpuri district, according to local reports.

TOI learnt from local sources that the patient fell ill and sought treatment from an unqualified practitioner, who administered a drip and then left him unattended.

The man was later seen in the video walking around the market with the drip still attached. As the video went viral on social media, residents expressed anger over the growing menace of quacks and the lack of proper healthcare facilities in rural areas.

Health officials said the incident was being investigated.
