Sons also rise in Madhya Pradesh BJP Yuva Morcha
BHOPAL: Sons of the most prominent leaders of ruling BJP figure in list of working committee members of
Names of office bearers and working committee members of the state unit of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) was announced on Wednesday and though none of the big leaders’ sons made it to the office-bearers list yet they all found their place in the working committee.
Among them are state BJP president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan’s son Harshvardhan Singh Chouhan, Union minister for rural development Narendra Singh Tomar’s son Devendra Pratap Singh Tomar, MLA and mayor of Indore Malini Gaur’s son Eklavya, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya’s son Akaash, BJP national vice-president Prabhat Jha’s son Tishmul, minister for water resources Narottam Mishra’s son Sukarna and minister for panchayats and rural development
In January this year before the Uttar Pradesh elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah gave instruction to party leaders that no one should ask for election tickets for their relatives. There was great resentment within the state BJP some ministers had openly revolted arguing that if Dhirubhai Ambani’s sons can inherit their family businesses, then why can’t the son of a political leader follow the footsteps of his father?
Exactly six months later as the BJYM list was declared, it was clear that no matter what the high-command says, the state BJP cannot afford to annoy the strong pillars of the party. Less than 17 months before the next assembly elections, the state BJP has accommodated sons of the stalwarts and ensured that the message is also sent that they are the gen next.
Addressing the gathering of newly appointed BJYM office-bearers and working committee members, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “The Yuva Morcha is the BJP of the future. In the present state and national leadership, many are those who had borne responsibilities in the Yuva Morcha. We have come out to work in the social sector. We should work with ethical values, total dedication, good behaviour and sense of duty. Our hard work, enthusiasm and passion build our personality.”
