Bhopal: A 22-year-old girl student was allegedly robbed of her mobile by snatchers in the MP Nagar area.
The incident later took a dramatic turn when the student suspected her maternal uncle after recognising the caller's voice, leading to a family dispute and a suicide attempt. Police said the complainant was travelling in an e-rickshaw from Nutan College to her coaching centre when the snatching happened. Soumya then tried calling her number. The person who answered sounded like her uncle, who lives in Sehore.
Suspecting his involvement, she, along with her family members, went to his house the same day.
At his residence, the uncle denied the allegations, after which an argument broke out between the two families. Shortly after, the uncle allegedly consumed poison. He was rushed to a hospital and he was discharged after two days. His condition is now reported to be out of danger.
The student approached MP Nagar police five days later and lodged a complaint.
A case of snatching was filed against unidentified accused, cops said.
