BHOPAL: Six people, including four women, seeking bank loan were conned by security guard of an ATM and his aide. A case of forgery has been registered at Koh-e-Fiza police station.
The accused took loan processing fee from the borrowers in advance and issued post-dated cheques which eventually bounced. Citing transparency in the procedure, the accused even went to the banks with the victims to get the cheques deposited.
Forgery came to light only when the cheques bounced. Police said the two accused have been nabbed. Police said that the complainant, Mohini Sharma (35), a resident of Indra Vihar Colony, met Tulsi Ram, a security guard at an ATM. She told him that she was in need of an urgent loan. The woman took him to her home with other accused, identified as Kishore.
The duo told her that she was eligible for a loan amount of Rs 5 lakh and took Rs 20,000 as loan processing fee in advance.
