BHOPAL: A day after the shocking daylight shooting in Shahjehanabad in which a 40-yearold mechanic was shot at, police are still clueless about the identity of the two masked bike-borne accused, who had fired the shots and fled the spot. DIG Irshad Wali has declared a reward of Rs 10,000 on the arrest of the accused in this case.
SHO Shahjehanabad Zaheer Khan said, cops are searching for the accused and making a map of their exit route using the CCTV cameras fitted on the route.
As of now cops haven’t got any concrete information on their identity and investigations are on.
He said, the victim Hafiz Khan is undergoing treatment at hospital and his condition is reported to be stable. His family has denied having any rivalry with anybody although cops are yet to record a detailed statement of the victim as he is undergoing treatment.
SHO said that Hafiz alias Bhaiya Khan, 40, runs a workshop in Bajaria, Shahjehanabad, along with his friend and partner Abid Khan.
Hafiz had told police that around 11.45 am on Thursday he was repairing a van parked on main road in front of his shop. He was lying under the vehicle for repair work when he heard a loud sound. Soon after that, he felt something hit him in the abdomen and started bleeding and having acute pain.
He came out of van and told Abid about it, who rushed him to a private hospital where the doctors conducted his X-ray and told him that it was a gunshot. He was shifted to another hospital for treatment and police were duly informed.
Khan said, police reached the spot on getting the information and registered an attempt to murder case against the unidentified accused.
