For the upkeep of plants, he had given the keys of his house to his sister Shweta and brother-in-law Deepak Gupta, who assist him at his shop.
Shweta and Deepak visited his house daily till June 18 to water the plants. They would come in the evening and lock the house after watering the plants, Gupta said. On June 20, Gupta returned from London in the morning around 8am. He was accompanied by Shweta and an employee Vipin.
However, Gupta was shocked to find that the front door of his house was broken and locked from the inside. All of them tried to open the door, but in vain. Finally, Vipin entered the house through the terrace door, which was broken, too. As Gupta entered the house along with his family, they were taken aback that the whole house was ransacked. The locks of almirahs were broken. Two kg silver and 150gm gold jewellery, his pistol and 15 live cartridges worth around Rs14 lakh were stolen.
Gupta immediately informed Koh-e-Fiza police on Dial-100 and alerted the cops.

The family has deployed armed guards, but they too, were on leave when the family went abroad. Police were now scanning the CCTV footage of cameras fitted in the area.
