Railway slips up, Shreyan not on death list

Railway authorities clueless about his death
BHOPAL: The railway authorities of Bhopal division are clueless about death of a nine year old boy from Bhopal Shreyan Sharma who became youngest victim of Indore- Patna train accident so far.

Even though the family was informed on Saturday evening around 9 pm about his death by their relatives who had rushed on the spot to help and locate the family, officials at District Railway Manager's (DRM) office have no idea about this casualty.

There was only mention of Shreyan's injured parents Arun Sharma and Nupur Sharma in the list of injured available with DRM Bhopal. The list did not mention name of their elder son Devyansh Sharma who also had suffered minor injuries in the incident.

When DRM officials were contacted on Sunday and Monday evening, they had still no news about Shreyan. His name was nowhere in their list of deceased. "We have list of six people from Bhopal who have died but Shreyan is not there in the list. Arun Sharma and his wife are in injured list and that is all we have received so far," said PRO railways Bhopal division I A Sidiqui. He said there the list of dead included Geeta Singh, Rajni singh, Poonam Tiwari, Jiwitesh Kumar, Sanjay Nath and Rajesh Singh.

near Pukhrayan in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur Dehat district in on Sunday morning. His body arrived to Bhopal on Monday morning and was handed over to family for his last rites. Shreyan was cremated at a local ground Shubash Nagar Bhopal on Monday afternoon.
