BHOPAL: Marking degrading environment as a threat to human life, cooperatives Minister Gaurishankar Bisen has encouraged sapling plantation in the state. Maximum plantation of saplings is the need of the hour under such circumstances. Bisen was addressing a plantation programme at water treatment plant in Balaghat today. Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ramesh Bhatere was also present on the occasion.

Bisen said that the state government is committed to ensure supply of clean drinking water to every house. For this, Chief Minister drinking water scheme has been implemented. It is being run by availing loan to the tune of Rs. 500 crore. He informed that development works worth Rs. 55 lakh are being made in scheduled caste localities at Balaghat city.
Bisen planted sapling of fruit-bearing trees along with a large number of people. He also administered a pledge to citizens to protect these saplings. Municipality Chairman Ramesh Rangnani informed that two thousand saplings are being planted in 22 wards of the city under Hariyali Mahotsav for making the city green and beautiful. Saplings of fruit-bearing trees were planted at programme under Hariyali Mahotsav.
