Out-of-control JCB rams bus, hr-long jam ensues

Bhopal: A major accident was narrowly averted on Bhadbhada Road on Monday evening when an uncontrolled JCB machine rolled backwards down a slope near Bhadbhada Bridge and rammed into a college bus following behind. The impact was so severe that the rear portion of the JCB smashed through the bus windscreen and reached up to the driver's seat.Fortunately, the bus driver escaped with minor injuries. At the time of the incident, only the driver, the conductor, and 1 or 2 staff members were present in the bus.Ratibad SHO RB Sharma said the accident occurred around 6 pm. Due to heavy traffic on the Bhadbhada stretch, vehicles were moving at a slow pace. Meanwhile, the JCB ahead suddenly rolled backwards because of the downward slope, leaving the bus driver no time to react. The JCB's rear arm pierced through the front portion of the bus.The accident led to a long traffic jam on Bhadbhada Road, as vehicles were forced to pass through a single lane from the Bhadbhada Bridge.
