On way home with father, girl, five, hurt in street brawl

Bhopal: A five-year-old girl was seriously injured after being struck on the head by a sharp object near LBS Road in Shahjahanabad late Wednesday night. The incident occurred while she was returning home with her father.According to police, the child, identified as Miral Ahmed, 5, was walking with her father, Faizan Ahmed, 35, a resident of Indra Vihar Colony on Airport Road. Faizan is an employee at the post office. The incident took place between 11:30 pm and 11:45 pm on Wednesday, March 25, when they were returning home from her maternal uncle's house on Noor Mahal Road.As they passed through a lane near Coffee House, they noticed a group of unidentified youths engaged in a heated argument and physical fight. Faizan tried to avoid the situation and moved ahead with his daughter. However, the group came close to them during the scuffle.After walking some distance, the girl complained of pain in her head. Upon checking, her father found an injury on her head and noticed that she was bleeding. Police suspect that during the altercation, the child was accidentally hit by a sharp weapon used by one of the youths involved in the fight. Following the incident, Faizan approached Shahjehanabad police station and lodged a complaint. A case has been registered, and cops have yet to identify the accused.
