Minor girl sets self on fire after harassers assault her dad

BHOPAL: A 14-year-old girl allegedly set herself on fire in Sagar district after boys, who had been harassing her for months, assaulted her father. Admitted to a hospital in Sagar, she is said to be critical.The ordeal occurred on April 5 evening. Police have registered a case against four juveniles under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the SC/ST Act. Two accused have been identified. Police said the girl used to travel to school by bus when one of the accused, from another village on the same route, allegedly began harassing her. The harassment by the accused had been ongoing for the last three months and included repeated phone calls. On the day of the ordeal, the accused, along with three others, allegedly reached the family's house, abused and assaulted family members.
