Mandu fest gets bigger & better, set to start from Jan 7
Bhopal: The fourth edition of much-awaited Mandu Utsav is set to start from January 7. The festival will conclude on January 11 but the ‘Tent City’ and other activities will continue for 90 days. Principal secretary Sheo Shekhar Shukla said that Mandu, a city known for natural beauty and historical buildings, is now ready for exciting activities and cultural programmes. Tent city will be operated for 90 days in the fourth edition of Mandu festival, which was started with the aim of promoting art-literature, culture of the state and creating awareness about tourism among the youth.This year's event is special because dignitaries from all over the world will be present in Madhya Pradesh under Pravasi Bhartiya Divas, G-20 Summit and Global Investors Meet, said Shukla. Tourists can enjoy experiences such as live concerts, adventure sports, cycling, trekking, rural tours etc, he added. Tourists will be able to experience the wonderful and overwhelming panoramic view of Mandu city from a bird’s height by sitting in a hot air balloon in the Mandu festival organized in collaboration with E-Factor Entertainment organization. Major activities to be organized during Mandu festival are live music concert, hot air balloon ride, cycling tour, adventure sports & activities, art and culture exhibitions, light and sound show, rural tourism, yoga and meditation sessions heritage walk, performance of traditional folk dance and music by local artistes.
