BHOPAL/JABALPUR: A sessions court in Jabalpur held a person guilty and sentenced him to life for killing his cousin and her son and committing loot at their residence. According to the prosecution, Deep Narayan is an employee with the GCF factory. On March 8, 2016, he left for work at 8.30 am and his elder sister also left for school. His wife Babita and younger son Adi were at home.
At around 11 am, he came to know that there had been some untoward incident at his home. He rushed back home and found that his wife and son were lying dead and jewellery and cash was missing from the house. After registering a case of murder and loot, police started investigation into the case.
During investigation, Deep Narayan's neighbours told police that two persons had come to his house on a bike. On the basis of description given by them, police picked up the son of Babita's maternal aunt Raghuraj Singh and Hemant Soni and following further investigation, a chargesheet against the two was presented in the court.
Following trial, the court of additional district & sessions judge, Abhishek Saxena held Raghuraj Singh guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment but acquitted Hemant Soni for lack of evidence.
