Bhopal: Man gets life imprisonment for raping 3-year-old daughter

BHOPAL: A special Pocso court on Thursday sentenced a man life imprisonment and slapped a penalty of Rs. 1,50,000 on him for repeatedly raping his three-year-old daughter.
The spokesperson for public prosecution wing of police, Manoj Tripathi, informed that a woman, who works as domestic help, on 1st January 2022, filed an FIR against her husband accusing him of raping his own daughter.
The complaint mentioned that the survivor had gone to a shop with her father. Next day, in the evening, the minor complained of pain in her private parts to her mother. On looking, her mother found semen on her bruised private parts.
She said that her daughter had made a similar complaint 20 days ago, however, she didn’t imagine what could have transpired, and on finding bruises and blood stains in her private parts, she had cleaned it and put some ointment there.
When she confronted her husband, he started threatening her. She took other family members into confidence and came to the police station to lodge an FIR.
Police registered a case against her husband and after further investigation, filed a chargesheet against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC and Pocso Act.
The special Pocso court of Padma Jatava held the accused guilty following trial on Thursday and sentenced him to imprisonment till his natural death. It also slapped a penalty of Rs. 1,50,000 on the accused father for the heinous crime.
