BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh government has withdrawn its ambitious project to sell

The Congress government's decision came in wake of wide opposition from the BJP and other religious groups who had been criticising the move saying it would hurt religious sentiments. BJP MLA from Hazur (Bhopal)
"The Congress government's decision was absurd and hurting religious sentiments. I had in my letter to chief minister Kamal Nath suggested to open separate outlets for selling chicken and milk. The Congress government accepted the demand but, after strong opposition", reacted Sharma on the new decision.
Minister Lakhan Singh had in his proposal stated that government's plan to sell chicken from the milk parlour was to provide a market to the tribals for selling their produce with the help of state government run cooperatives.
"The plan was to provide quality eggs and milk to the people from the same outlet. It was decided that tribals will get employment. as Kadaknath chicken is also being sold at the chicken parlour which is only available in Jhabua and Alirajpur, besides desi eggs," Lakhan Singh had stated.
Kadaknath is an Indian breed of chicken originating from the Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh, where it is known as 'kali masi', and good for its nutritional and medicinal values.
