BHOPAL: Cash worth over Rs3 crore along with liquor, narcotics and illegal weapons - worth Rs4.5 crore, have been seized in the state after the model code of conduct came into force.
"Since the implementation of the model code of conduct, campaigns have been launched to check the flow of illegal cash, illegal liquor and illegal weapons," said CEO VL Kantha Rao.
In addition, the draft publication of voter list was released on February 22, in which, 5.14 crore voters were registered. The process of updating the list is underway, and so far 6.08 applications have been received for addition or correc tion."The process for addition of names in the constituencies which are going to poll in the first phase on April 29, will continue till March 30. For second phase on May 6 the process for will continue till April 8. For third phase on May 12, it will continue till April 13 and for the fourth phase, May 19, the process will go on till April 19."
Rao also said that EC has made changes in the affidavit format for candidates. This time, they will have to provide information about their investments in foreign countries, details of the properties owned by the relativesliving in undivided family and five year I-T return of kin.
