Bhopal: A voter turnout of 14.97% has been reported till 9am as polling is going on across 8 parliamentary constituencies of Malwa Nimar region—namely Dewas, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Dhar, Indore, Khargone and Khandwa—during the fourth and last phase of parliamentary elections in the state on Monday.


Chief electoral officer, Madhya Pradesh said that a total of 18,007 polling booths have been set up and webcasting and CCTV cameras have been installed at 12,130 polling booths.

Voting started at 7 am across these constituencies and will continue till 6 pm.

Overall there are 1.63 crore voters and of those 82.48 lakh are males, 81.22 lakh are females and 388 are from third gender in these 8 constituencies. And a total of 74 candidates are in the fray. Indore has maximum 14 candidates and Khargone has minimum only 5 candidates who are in the fray.

And of the total 18,007 polling booths, 2001 will be fully managed by women, 946 will be ideal polling booths and 66 booths will be managed by persons with disabilities.

Of these booths, 3080 have been identified as critical and 53 vulnerable areas have also been identified.
