IPS body slamsBJP MLA over ‘abusive’ remarks against officer

Bhopal:The IPS Association of Madhya Pradeshon Tuesdaystrongly condemned alleged objectionable remarks by BJP legislator Pritam Singh Lodhi against an IPS officerposted inShivpuri dist, describing the language as "abusive, indecent and threatening" and unworthy of public life.In a statement, the association said a video of the remarks targeting theKareraSDOP, Ayush Jakhad, had gone viral. In it, Lodhi is purportedly heard using derogatory language, issuing threats and making inappropriate comments about the officer's family.Stressing that public representatives are expected to "maintain restraint and decorum", the association said such statements not only undermine the dignity of the office they hold but also adversely affect the morale of officials and the functioning of the administrative system. "This kind of language and threatening behaviour has no place in a democratic setup and harms the neutrality of governance," it stated.Besides, the association demanded appropriate action in the matter, adding that it was "unfortunate" and "highly condemnable" that such an incident came to light on Civil Services Day, a day meant to recognise the contributions of civil servants.
