Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh on Sunday added a new leg to its heli-tourism network with the launch of the Bhopal-Chanderi-Orchha route, with CM Mohan Yadav describing it a "Pushpak Viman" service for devotees travelling to Orchha for darshan of Lord Rama.
"Lord Rama resides in Orchha as its King; we've arranged this celestial aircraft service under PM-Shri Heli Seva," Yadav said, tying the launch to the auspicious Parashurama Jayanti. The event marks the third sector for Madhya Pradesh's heli-tourism initiative, following routes like Omkareshwar-Mahakaleshwar-Indore and Kanha-Bandhavgarh-Maihar-Amarkantak-Chitrakoot.
The CM handed boarding passes to inaugural passengers — Avdhesh Prasad Shukla, Revati Shukla, and Ramashankar Shukla — before flagging off a modern six-seater helicopter operated by Fly Ola. Bookings are available on https://www.flyola.in/ and IRCTC portal.
The service aims to make tourism and pilgrimages accessible, safe, and enjoyable across Madhya Pradesh's vast landscape, rich in religious, cultural, wildlife, and heritage sites like Chanderi, linked to Lord Rama and Krishna. "This will save time, expand economic activities, and create jobs," Yadav noted, praising the state's aviation push that has inspired states like Maharashtra.
