Bhopal: The state govt has continued its round of political appointments to boards and corporations, naming former MP from Guna-Shivpuri KP Yadav as chairman of the MP Civil Supplies Corporation.
Yadav had come into the spotlight after defeating then Congress heavyweight Jyotiraditya Scindia in the 2019 Lok Sabha election. After Scindia joined the BJP in 2020, he was fielded from the seat in 2024, leaving the former MP out of the contest. The latest move is seen as part of his political rehabilitation.
Ramniwas Rawat, who defected from the Congress before the 2024 general election, has also been nominated as chairman of the MP Forest Development Corporation.
Rawat was inducted into the cabinet after joining the BJP but lost the by-election from his traditional Vijaypur seat in Sheopur district following the defection, forcing him to resign as forest minister.
BJP leader from Panna Sanjay Nagaich has been appointed chairman of the MP Warehousing Corporation, while Sanjeev Kankar has been nominated as vice-chairman of the MP Civil Supplies Corporation.
