BHOPAL: Father of Indian cricketer Naman Ojha was arrested by

police in connection with an 8-year-old case of

fraud

from Indore district on Monday.

Ojha

is an accused in and old case of fraud and was wanted for past 8 years. He was arrested from Indore district and produced before court. We urged the court for one day remand which was granted by court. He will be produced in court on Tuesday,” SP Betul Simala Prasad told TOI.

Sources said a fraud to the tune of around Rs 1.25 crores had come to light in year 2013, Jaulkheda branch of Bank of Maharashtra, at Betul district. An FIR for fraud and other relevant sections was registered against the them branch manager VK Ojha in year 2014. Ojha was wanted since then, said sources.

Fraud was allegedly executed by opening around 34 fake accounts and loans from Kishan credit cards were transferred in those accounts and the funds to the tune of around Rs 1.25 crore were siphoned off.
