‘Cough syrup’ worth 7L seized in Satna
Bhopal: Police in Satna district have seized cough syrup bottles worth around Rs 7 lakh which were being illegally transported. The ‘cough syrups' which are illegally sold are used as intoxicants in the Vindhya region. In the recent incident police at Jaso police station in Satna district received a tip off that cough syrups are being illegally brought from Panna district. Acting on the tip off police teams led by Jaso police station incharge, Rohit Yadav rushed to the spot and apprehended a vehicle near Fatehpur village. Police teams stopped a car (MP16-C-6030) and upon questioning, the driver who introduced themselves as Deepak Ahirwar and Arjun Prasad Ahirwar, residents of the village Ujraudha under the jurisdiction of Kothi police station. Upon checking the car, eight boxes covered in white plastic bags with ‘Sanjivini Hospital 7722809216 (Arjun Bhai)' written on them were found. A total of 960 bottles of Codeine Phosphate and Triprolidine Hydrochloride Syrup each 100ml, were also discovered.
