Cop attacker among 2 held for murder

BHOPAL: Police have arrested two suspects in the chilling murder of a bus passenger during a pickpocketing in

Koh-e-Fiza

on Tuesday. One of them had allegedly tried to stab a cop barely three weeks ago.

Bhura alias Hameed Khan, 22, a resident of Janata colony in Karod, and Saud Khan, 19, of Bafna colony in Qazi Camp, were nabbed late Tuesday night. A third suspect, Asif, is on the run.

Bhura is a repeat offender, who had earlier attacked a police officer with a sharp weapon, said Anil Bajpayee, SHO of Koh-e-Fiza police station. “On February 3, he tried to snatch the purse of a girl in a minibus. When an ASI tried to grab him, Bhura attacked him,” he said.

Bajpayee said the duo was arrested from Shahjahanabad on a tip off and the murder weapon seized from them. “We will get the third accused soon. They have admitted to the crime. All three are pickpockets who also worked as labourers. They have criminal records,” he added.
