CM hardsells MP’s investment potential, holds parleys with global delegations
Bhopal: Making good on his promise to actively seek global collaboration in the state's development journey, chief minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday held a one-to-one meeting with the Maldives' minister for Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, on the sidelines of the ongoing World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, Switzerland. The meeting focused on advancing cooperation across multiple sectors, with tourism as the common foundation, while exploring collaboration in areas such as healthcare, education, wildlife conservation and cultural exchange. During bilateral talks in Davos, CM Mohan Yadav proposed long-term partnerships with the Maldives, identifying medical tourism, fisheries, education, health, wildlife conservation and culture as key areas where the state's biodiversity, wildlife sanctuaries, growing medical infrastructure and cultural heritage could form the basis of a mutual cooperation framework. He said tourism-driven collaboration could stimulate investment, skill development and people-to-people ties. The Maldivian minister welcomed the proposal, describing tourism as a natural bridge between the two regions and expressing interest in expanding joint work in tourism, human resource development and knowledge exchange. Both sides agreed to institutionalize regular dialogue, increase delegation visits and develop a concrete roadmap for cooperation, with the World Economic Forum parleys seen as a step toward broader international engagement.
