Deepa Malik, the first Indian woman who won a silver medal in shot put at ongoing Paralympics in
Rio

"MP government will reward Deepa, India's first woman Paralympics medallist, with Rs 40 lakh for bringing glory to the nation," tweeted the chief minister after
Deepa won silver medal in the competition. Congratulating Deepa for her success, Chouhan said, "This is great news and I feel very proud of Deepa." Deepa Malik, a 45-year-old wheelchair-bound adrenaline junkie from Gurgaon, made history when she became the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Paralympics. Her throw of 4.61m won her a silver medal in the shot put F-53 event.
