Chirayu medical college ex-dean in jail remand till November 30

Virendra Mohan

, who is accused in the Vyapam scam case of PMT-2012, was produced in the special court of S C Upadhyay on Tuesday. The judge remanded him in judicial custody till November 30.

Hearing on his bail application will take place on Wednesday. Mohan, who was arrested by CBI from Ludhiana on Tuesday, was tobe producedin thecourt of D P Mishra, who is hearing the PMT-2012 case but the judge was on leave, and Mohan endedup in Upadhyay’s court.

Mohan’s counsel Harish Mehta presented a bail application but didn’t press for arguments, saying that the application could be paced for hearing the next day, when judge Mishra would be back. CBI special counsel Satish Dinkar raised no objection to Mehta’s plea and the court fixed hearing of bail plea for Wednesday, remanding accused in judicial custody till Thursday.
