Bhopal: A knife attack broke out between neighbours in the Aishbagh area on Thursday night over a dispute related to bicycle parking, leaving five people, including two brothers, injured. Police said both sides attacked each other as the argument escalated, with knives being used.
According to police, Asif Khan and Arif Khan, brothers living in Ahmed Ali Colony, got into an argument with their neighbours Mohammad Ali and his sons Faiz and Saif around 7 pm when a dispute over parking a bicycle turned heated. What began as a minor issue soon escalated into verbal abuse and physical assault.
Police said Mohammad Ali allegedly called his sons to the spot after the argument intensified. The three then allegedly attacked Arif with a knife. Asif, who intervened to save his brother, was also injured in the attack. Both were admitted to hospital, with one reported to be in critical condition.
In a counter complaint, the other side alleged that Asif and Arif initiated the assault. During the scuffle, Arif allegedly attacked one person with a knife, severing a finger. Members of their family who intervened were also allegedly threatened.
Aishbagh police reached the spot after being informed and brought the situation under control. Three accused—Mohammad Ali, Faiz and Saif—have been arrested.
