Bhopal: The Bhopal Division of West Central Railway notched impressive gains in revenue, passenger services, freight and digital upgrades during the financial year 2025-26, Bhopal Divisional Railway Manager Pankaj Tyagi announced at a press conference on Friday.
Tyagi spotlighted new services like the tri-weekly Bhopal-Dhanbad Express and weekly Bhopal-Chopan Express. The division added stoppages for 16 trains at 10 stations, upgraded the Bhopal-Khajuraho Mahamana Express and Rani Kamalapati-Adhartal Express to LHB coaches, and operated 8,923 special trains.
Freight revenue soared to Rs 896.38 crore — a 13.99% rise — with 4.03% higher tonnage and 5.42% improved wagon utilisation.
Passenger traffic climbed 6.62% to 414.80 lakh, generating Rs 1,013.78 crore (up 6.50%). Unreserved ticket sales jumped 12.32%
Non-fare revenue exploded 125.18% (exceeding targets by 5.82%), with parking up 34.09%, ATMs surging 424.13%, and ‘Pay & Use' facilities growing 22.93%.
