Bhopal: The dip in the night temperatures increased the winter chill in the Bhopal. The minimum temperature in Bhopal was 11 degrees Celsius. The day temperature also remained below the normal mark. Temperatures will continue to go down.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle, said that jet-stream winds at 12.6 km above mean sea level are prevailing over north-west India. The cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan and its neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level persists while another cyclonic circulation lies over the south Bangladesh area at 1.5 km above mean sea level. As such, dry weather will prevail in the state and the temperatures may dip further.
The day temperature in Bhopal on Wednesday was recorded at 27.1 degrees, two degrees less than the normal mark, while the night temperature was 11.0 degrees, three degrees less than the normal mark. The night temperature was the lowest of the season so far, and the temperature may go down further. A minimum temperature of 7.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Pachmarhi.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Thursday, the meteorological dept stated there will be a clear sky and haze during the morning hours. The day and night temperatures will be 27 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius, respectively, while the average wind speed will be 10 kilometres per hour.
A warning of shallow to moderate fog was issued for isolated places in Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, and Sheopur dists.
