Bhopal: The state capital Bhopal on Monday witnessed probably the coldest day of this season with the day time temperature falling below normal by 4.5 degrees Celsius. The day time temperature on Monday was recorded at 23.4 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature also remained below 10 degrees Celsius and on Sunday night the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.2 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 3 degrees Celsius below the normal temperature.
Sources in the meteorological department said that the temperature was likely to fall further in the coming days. Overall, a gradual fall in the temperature by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius was reported across the state during the last 24 hours.
For the state capital, the Met officials said that the minimum temperature may fall further by 1 degrees Celsius to 8.5 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature could be around 27 degrees Celsius.
In the past 24 hours, a maximum temperature of 30.5 degrees Celsius was recorded at Khandwa, and a minimum temperature of 6.8 degrees Celsius at Shivpuri district.
Met officials said on Monday, "During the last 24 hours, rainfall was recorded at isolated places in Jabalpur and Shahdol divisions and remained dry in other divisions of the state. No significant changes were recorded in maximum temperatures in all the divisions of the state. They fell below normal in districts of Rewa division and remained normal in all the divisions of the state. Minimum temperatures fell appreciably in districts of Bhopal, Indore, and Narmadapuram divisions, with no significant changes in the districts of the remaining divisions. They fell below normal in districts of Bhopal division; rose above normal in districts of Rewa division; rose appreciably above normal in districts of Jabalpur and Shahdol divisions and remained normal in all the remaining divisions of the state."
