Berasia murder mystery: 16-yr-old boy was killed for goats, five arrested

Bhopal: Berasia police on Tuesday claimed to have solved the blind murder of a 16-year-old boy with the arrest of five accused. SP (Bhopal Rural) Kiranlata Kerketta said that the victim Zuber Khan had left home on July 2 around 10am to graze the goats. He did not return home in the evening and his family members started searching for him. They found his body lying in a pool of blood beside Sabodara River. He had a severe head injury probably caused by a heavy blunt object and was bleeding from ears. SP Kerketta said that Zuber was last seen with Raja Shah, 19, who resides in his neighbourhood, and Raja’s brother-in-law Shoaib, 25. Police searched and nabbed them. During interrogation, they admitted to murdering Zuber with the blunt side of an axe and stealing his herd of goats. Their three accomplices Faiz, Amir and Zahid were soon rounded up and arrested. Police recovered the loading vehicle and axe used by them to commit the crime along with the herd of goats hidden at Shoaib’s home. TNN
