BHOPAL: The computer science department of Barkatullah University is helping students take their research work abroad in order to help them continue their research at a higher level and also support them in getting an exposure at the international level.
The university’s system analyst Amit Dutta is helping students in this endeavour by identifying renowned international agencies with possible opportunities.
Several students have got offers to continue work on their research by international companies.
“In India, research works of students don’t get much prominence. However, in developed countries, the culture is to share such research to get better results,” Dutta said. “I decided, to directly send research work of the students to international associations like Machine Intelligence Research laboratory (MIR lab in USA),” said Dutta.
MIR lab does all kinds of research including neural network, artificial intelligence, data mining etc. “We send only completed works by students,” he said.
Dutta said Indian students are good in mathematics which is the pre-requisite for a good researcher in computers. “I have noticed several important works done by students that could not get proper response owing to the indifference to such efforts. The same researches have been welcomed by the international community,” he claimed.
Several students were contacted by the international associations to continue their research work at their institute or universities, according to students. Dutta has also been the member of MIR lab for last four years. “When we get in touch with the international community and interact with them regularly, the opportunities increases exponentially,” he said.
